Distances. New Monochrome Film Plates
Distances is about going back to the landscapes of his past; to survey if his memories are whole and intact, to rediscover these pale recollections in both the reality and remembrances. This new series of original photographic film studies will become part of the Ed Wargin Film Collection™ from the Great Lakes Coastal Districts.
Boreal. New Color Negative Film Plates
Wargin examines an unfamiliar landscape in a new series of color negative film plates from his observations of the Great Lakes Coastal Districts. It is a landscape that is replaced by a new understory of concrete and blacktop and a canopy made of brick, glass, steel, wood, and enterprise. This new landscape has emerged as the Boreal.
The Great Lakes Film COLLECTION™
Over 30 years ago, narrative fine art photographer Ed Wargin began his work with a film endeavor he founded and established in 1987 known as The Fresh Coast Project as a way of documenting a Great Lakes visual narrative, through archival color reversal film photographs. The resulting archive is The Great Lakes Film Collection™.
